Freetown, Sierra Leone, 27th October 2025-Orange Sierra Leone has once again demonstrated its pivotal role in driving economic transformation, injecting a staggering NLe1.779 billion into the national economy in 2024 through a combination of direct fiscal contributions and strategic local supplier engagement.
The figures, unveiled in the company’s newly released Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report, underscore Orange’s commitment to inclusive growth, national development, and long-term value creation.
Of the total contribution, NLe781 million was channeled into taxes, licenses, employee wages, and statutory obligations, an investment that not only reflects fiscal discipline but also reinforces the company’s alignment with Sierra Leone’s development agenda.
These payments support essential public services, infrastructure, and regulatory institutions, helping to build a more robust and accountable governance framework.
Beyond its direct payments, Orange Sierra Leone generated NLe998 million in revenue for local suppliers across diverse sectors, from logistics and construction to marketing, maintenance, and IT services. This deliberate prioritization of Sierra Leonean vendors is part of Orange’s broader strategy to strengthen domestic value chains, foster entrepreneurship, and deepen the roots of economic self-reliance.
“This is not just about numbers, it’s about impact,” said CEO Sekou Amadou Bah. “Every Leone spent locally supports jobs, families, and the broader economy. We believe in building from within, and our partnerships reflect that belief.”

The CSR Report also highlights Orange’s alignment with key government priorities, including digital transformation, youth employment, and sustainable economic development. Through targeted investments in connectivity, digital literacy, and innovation hubs, the company is helping to unlock new opportunities for Sierra Leone’s young population, positioning technology as a catalyst for empowerment and upward mobility.
Orange’s economic footprint is emblematic of a growing shift among responsible businesses: a move away from profit-only models toward purpose-driven engagement. By embedding social impact into its core operations, Orange Sierra Leone is not only delivering telecom services, it is actively shaping the future of the nation.
As Sierra Leone continues to navigate complex development challenges, Orange’s approach offers a blueprint for how private sector actors can become engines of transformation. From fiscal contributions to supplier empowerment, the company’s 2024 performance sends a clear message: corporate responsibility is not a side project, it’s a national imperative.
